Attorney General William Barr ignored House Democrats’ demand to keep the Mueller Report under wraps, choosing instead to unveil it Thursday morning. As late as Wednesday, a group of House Democrats begged Barr not to hold the press conference, calling it “unnecessary and inappropriate” and “designed to shape public perceptions of the report before anyone can read it.” In reality, it’s more likely that the Left did not want to lose their latest opportunity to perpetuate a new “cover up” collusion conspiracy theory to dog President Trump in the run-up to 2020. Democrats’ silver bullet strategy has gone up in smoke before their eyes, and now they’ll be forced to campaign on the merit of their ideas, which, of course, is something they can’t do so well.
Here’s more from The Hill…
A group of House Democrats on Wednesday called for Attorney General William Barr to cancel his planned press conference Thursday morning ahead of the release of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report.
“The Department of Justice announced today that the Attorney General will hold a press conference tomorrow morning before Congress has even seen Special Counsel Mueller’s report,” they said in a statement.
“This press conference, which apparently will not include Special Counsel Mueller, is unnecessary and inappropriate, and appears designed to shape public perceptions of the report before anyone can read it,” they continued.
