According to CNN political director David Chalian, Sens. Kamala Harris (D-CA) and Cory Booker (D-NJ) are trying to weaponize the Supreme Court confirmation hearings of Judge Brett Kavanaugh ahead of their speculated 2020 presidential campaigns. Speaking on ‘Newsroom’ Chalian said, “Kamala Harris in questioning Kavanaugh late last night had a moment that went viral…Her potential 2020 rival, Cory Booker, who sits next to her on the panel, comes out swinging this morning saying, ‘I’m breaking Senate rules. This is my only chance to have a Spartacus moment.” The trouble is it’s really difficult to discern when Democrats are posturing for advantage ahead of an election or if they’re just being Democrats. The circus in the hearings is either a sign that 2020 is kicking into gear or that it was a Thursday.
Thursday on CNN’s “Newsroom,” political director for the network David Chalian said Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) and Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) are using the Supreme Court confirmation hearing of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to impress their base voters for a 2020 presidential run.
Chalian said, “This is about showing a fight. That’s what the Democratic base is demanding. I think you are now seeing the two people that are the most talked about likely 2020 presidential contenders on the Democratic side of this panel are Cory Booker and Kamala Harris.”
He added, “Kamala Harris in questioning Kavanaugh late last night had a moment that went viral. She got a lot of attention for it in the overnight hours about questioning him about any comments he had with a lawyer or a member of a law firm about the Mueller investigation, indicating she knows there’s something there. Her potential 2020 rival, Cory Booker, who sits next to her on the panel, comes out swinging this morning saying, ‘I’m breaking Senate rules.
On day two of the confirmation hearings for SCOTUS nominee Brett Kavanaugh, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) wasted no time in attempting to put Trump’s pick in the abortion corner with questions about Roe v. Wade, complete with loaded language [read: lies]. At one point, Feinstein claimed “Deaths from illegal abortions in this country ran between 200,000 and 1.2 million … so, a lot of women died in that period [before Roe v. Wade].” Of course, the truth usually tells another story. According to a 1972 CDC report, the rate was actually 39 deaths in the U.S. the year before Roe v. Wade became law of the land. Kavanaugh cut straight to the core of the matter, bringing up the importance of precedent, settled law, and avoided getting bogged down by Feinstein’s gotcha question. Unfortunately, we weren’t treated to another of her “dogma lives loudly within you” utterances. Conservative meme-makers around the world were soundly disappointed.
Within moments of Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing on day two, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) attempted to corner the SCOTUS nominee with questions about abortion and Roe v. Wade.
Keeping it dramatic, the senator from California began with the statement that “a lot of women died” prior to abortion becoming legal, citing refuted statistics to support her assertion.
“Deaths from illegal abortions in this country ran between 200,000 and 1.2 million … so, a lot of women died in that period,” Feinstein claimed.
As noted by LifeNews, in actuality, “government statistics prior to the Roe decision in 1973 show nowhere near 1.2 million women (or even 200,000) died in abortions. A 1972 Center for Disease Control report noted the maternal death rate from abortions was 39 in the United States, the year prior to Roe.”
Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) didn’t even get through his opening sentence before Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) interrupted him to ask that the hearings be delayed in order to review 42,000 documents. Grassley declared her “out of order” following the outburst, but then it snowballed from there with all the Democrats starting to shriek their outrage about the unfairness of it all for a full ten minutes with the help of an anti-Kavanaugh mosh pit in the back of the room. This is, of course, typical of the left. When rules can’t be bent, broken or circumvented to suit their agenda, civil disruption and, ultimately, criminal behavior suddenly become justified.
Within ten seconds of Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearings, Democrats immediately began to showboat.
Before Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley could even finish his opening sentence, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) immediately interrupted to ask that the hearings be delayed in order to review 42,000 documents pertaining to Kavanaugh that were dumped on the Senate last night.
“We cannot possibly move forward,” Harris said, prompting applause from the audience.
Harris’ recalcitrance was met with Grassley declaring her “out of order.”
The Senate Judiciary Committee just received 42,000 more pages of Kavanaugh’s documents last night, just hours before the hearing. NONE of which have been made public. It’s unacceptable.
.@SenKamalaHarris: The committee received just last night, less than 15 hours ago, 42 THOUSAND pages of documents that we have not had an opportunity to review or read or analyze.
GRASSLEY: You are out of order
HARRIS: We cannot possibly move forward with this hearing. pic.twitter.com/b8VPCqarbv
Buzz Aldrin, 88, just threw down the gauntlet with his opinion on “First Man,” a biopic about the first man to set foot on the moon-Neil Armstrong-but with no American flag in sight. From the iconic flag planting on the moon to a patch on the spacesuit costumes, Old Glory was glaringly absent from what is a human achievement by the US of A writ large. Aldrin took to Twitter to share photos of the historic moment that didn’t fit the Hollywood script: One of the flag planting hashtagged ProudToBeAnAmerican and the next photo a picture of himself saluting it. Hollywood’s anti-American attitude knows no bounds. Can you say “boycott”?
Here’s more from The Daily Wire…
One time a “moon landing denier” got in Buzz Aldrin’s face. So Aldrin, 72 years old at the time, punched the guy right in the jaw with a fierce right cross.
Aldrin, the second man to walk on the moon, is not a guy you want to mess around with, even at 88! And when he has an opinion, hoo boy you better believe he voices it.
Over the weekend, the astronaut weighed in on the new movie “First Man,” a biopic about the first man to step on the moon, Neil Armstrong. The movie stars actor Ryan Gosling — but not the American flag. The moment when the U.S. flag was planted on the moon was omitted from the movie because, as Gosling said, “I think this was widely regarded in the end as a human achievement [and] that’s how we chose to view it.”
On Sunday, Aldrin tweeted a picture of the flag planted on the moon during the landing in 1969.
Tim Hwang, former global public policy lead for machine learning at Google, admitted in an interview with Slate that President Trump made a “good point” about the search engine’s bias. “The president’s tweet is picking up on a good point…I don’t think the question is whether or not it’s biased. All these systems embed some kind of bias. The question is: Do we have transparency to how some of these decisions are being made?” And the answer to that last question is quite obviously ‘no’.
Tim Hwang, former global public policy lead for machine learning at Google, claimed President Trump made a “good point” about the company’s bias this week.
During his interview with Slate, Hwang pointed out that Google lacks transparency, a constant point of contention for Breitbart News and other critics of the Silicon Valley Masters of the Universe, including Trump 2020 Campaign Manager Brad Parscale, who has targeted Facebook on transparency.
“The president’s tweet is picking up on a good point, but I don’t take as conspiratorial a view as he does on the questions of whether it’s biased or not biased,” declared Hwang. “I don’t think the question is whether or not it’s biased. All these systems embed some kind of bias. The question is: Do we have transparency to how some of these decisions are being made?”
“After responding to a lot of complaints about the quality of information coming through these platforms, a lot of these platforms — Facebook and Google included — have said that they want improve the quality of information.
Rich McHugh, a producer who worked closely with Ronan Farrow on the Harvey Weinstein story, is now a whistleblower telling the New York Times that he was ordered to “stand down” on an investigation of a ‘credible’ rape allegation against Weinstein. “Three days before Ronan [Farrow] and I were going to head to L.A. to interview a woman with a credible rape allegation against Harvey Weinstein, I was ordered to stop, not to interview this woman. And to stand down on the story altogether.” Farrow himself was forced to take his would-be Pultizer Prize winning investigation on this to the New Yorker because NBC refused to run the story. Naturally NBC denies this, just like they denied knowing anything about Matt Lauer’s exploits.
NBC News covered up a credible rape allegation against Harvey Weinstein, according to sources who spoke to the New York Times and Daily Beast.
“Three days before Ronan [Farrow] and I were going to head to L.A. to interview a woman with a credible rape allegation against Harvey Weinstein, I was ordered to stop, not to interview this woman,” an NBC News whistleblower told the far-left New York Times. “And to stand down on the story altogether.”
“Farrow was prepared to fly to California to interview a woman who was going to claim in silhouette on camera that Weinstein had raped her,” reports the far-left Daily Beast. “Farrow wanted to publish this interview and what he had already gathered, but network higher-ups said he needed more and would not allow Farrow to use an NBC News crew for the interview[.]”
The NBC News whistleblower is Rich McHugh, a 43-year-old producer who worked closely with Farrow on the Weinstein story. He left his job at NBC’s investigative unit some two weeks ago for an opportunity to work for Al Gore on a climate change documentary.
New York Mayor Bill de Blasio says those social democrats are not novel, they’re just “acting like real Democrats.” De Blasio went to explain it’s the key to victory in the midterms following Andrew Gillum’s surprise grab on the gubernatorial nomination in Florida and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s primary win for a House seat in New York. “That energy is on the Democratic and on the progressive side right now, and that’s what I think can’t be tracked. You know, polling’s not picking it up; the reality of turnout is something that is beyond the reach of traditional polling to analyze.” The shorter version goes something like this: Hillary lost because she didn’t embrace Bernie Sanders. Let’s let them continue smoking that pipe.
New York Mayor Bill de Blasio said of his party’s midterm direction — including primary wins for some progressive candidates who weren’t backed by the Dem establishment — that “what Democrats are doing this year are more and more is acting like real Democrats.”
De Blasio said that was behind Andrew Gillum’s surprise win for the gubernatorial nomination in Florida and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s House primary win.
“I think you see something happening all over the country, and the reason I say that is I think that is the pertinent reality is what’s going to move people in their hearts emotionally to come out and vote,” de Blasio told MSNBC this morning. “That energy is on the Democratic and on the progressive side right now, and that’s what I think can’t be tracked. You know, polling’s not picking it up; the reality of turnout is something that is beyond the reach of traditional polling to analyze.”
“And we keep getting surprised, we keep seeing things happen that were not predicted and I think you’re going to see a lot more of that in November. You certainly saw it last November, Virginia is a great example in the House of Delegates,” he added.
Dissatisfaction with former U.S. Senator and current U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions is mounting over his apparent lackluster approach to the Russian collusion investigation. Some go so far as to question where his leadership is on anything at all. It appears the Democrats in particular don’t take him seriously or consider him a ‘threat’, as not a single Democrat member of Congress bothered to show up when Justice Department official Bruce Ohr testified before the House Judiciary and Oversight Committee on Tuesday. His absence on important matters since the day he recused himself is adding fuel to the rumor that his days are numbered and that an ouster by President Trump is only a matter of time. And if it happens, we won’t shed a tear.
When Justice Department official Bruce Ohr testified before the House Judiciary and Oversight committees on Tuesday, no actual Democrat congressmen or women showed up. They likely would claim it wasn’t necessary. This was all old hat and there was no there there.
The opposite is true. There’s plenty there — to wit, the potential weaponization of the FBI, and by extension the Department of Justice, to prevent the presidency of Donald Trump and later to undermine it.
Whether you like Trump or not, if true, that’s nothing short of sabotage of American democracy as we know it, the Sovietization of the prosecutorial wings of our legal system. But never mind. When party politics is involved, best to ignore it. What Ohr knows about who, what, where, why, when and how the nefarious Steele dossier was conceived and then promulgated — to the FBI, media and even to the supposedly sacrosanct FISA court — is, at least to those congressional Democrats, of no consequence.
National security moves made by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration came as no surprise to China. We’re now learning that a Chinese state-owned company – aka the Chinese government – hacked Clinton’s email server and then inserted code to forward themselves a “courtesy copy” of every email she sent or received after that. Insanely enough, the code was discovered in 2015 by the Intelligence Community Inspector General who then warned the FBI officials – and agent Peter Strzok – but the FBI says it found no such compromise and the ICIG has declined to comment. There was no follow up. Any guesses why the FBI found no evidence of the hack just before the presidential election heated up?
A Chinese state-owned company reportedly hacked former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s email server, then inserted code that forwarded them a copy of virtually every email she sent or received after that — a revelation President Trump is demanding be investigated.
The Daily Caller reported that the firm operating in the D.C. area wrote code that was then embedded in the server and generated a “courtesy copy” for almost all her emails — which was then forwarded to the Chinese company.
The code reportedly was discovered in 2015 by the Intelligence Community Inspector General (ICIG), which then warned FBI officials of the intrusion.
A source briefed on the matter confirmed to Fox News the details of the Caller’s reporting, and said that the ICIG was so concerned by the revelation that officials drove over to the FBI to inform agents — including anti-Trump agent Peter Strzok — of the development after it was discovered via the emails’ metadata.
The source told Fox News the hack was from a Chinese company, describing it as a front for Chinese intelligence.
Operation Crossfire Hurricane – the FBI’s investigation into the Trump campaign for collusion with Russia – is officially in the crosshairs for being an inside hit job. According to new documents obtained by investigative journalist Sara Cart, the investigation relied heavily on faulty intelligence presented by FBI informant and Cambridge professor Stefan Halper, who appears to have attempted to frame several members of the Trump campaign. DoD analyst turned whistleblower Adam Lovinger raised concern over Halper’s contract ties to the Clintons and the roughly $1 million he received to write policy reports, for which Lovinger was subsequently fired. He reported as evidence of his claims that Halper received “astronomically more” than the pay grade of other report writers. But none of this comes as a surprise in the wake of Peter Strzok’s ouster for his collusion in the ‘insurance policy’ against Trump.
New documents obtained by investigative journalist Sara Carter show that the FBI’s investigation into the Trump campaign –dubbed Operation Crossfire Hurricane — heavily relied upon faulty intelligence gathered by longtime FBI informant Stefan Halper, a Cambridge professor, after he tried to set up several members of the Trump campaign.
***EXCLUSIVE*** Whistleblower Exposes Key Player in FBI Russia Probe: “It was all a Set-up” https://t.co/lz6SyrgUw3
In the fall of 2016, Adam Lovinger, a former senior official of the Defense Department’s Office of Net Assessment (ONA), stumbled upon evidence that the deep state wanted buried — documents exposing Halper’s role in the frame-up job. He voiced his concerns about what he had found and paid dearly for it.
Lovinger, a DoD analyst turned whistleblower, had his security clearance suspended on May 1, 2017, after he raised concerns about the roughly $1 million in tax-payer funded money Halper had received to write Defense Department foreign policy reports.
