W. Steps Back into the Political Fray for Kavanaugh

Former President George W. Bush has been personally calling key swing vote senators urging support for Brett Kavanaugh whose confirmation has been tactically delayed by Democrats. The Washington Post reports that the former president remains in the Kavanaugh camp following Thursday’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, saying “He is a fine husband, father, and friend – and a man of the highest integrity. He will make a superb Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States.” What Democrats did not bargain for in their organized campaign of character assassination is that it would unite Republicans of all stripes behind Trump and his nominee. NeverTrump is dead; now it’s merely NeverDemocrat going into November.

Here’s more from The Daily Wire…

Former President George W. Bush has stepped to the plate in support of his guy, Brett Kavanaugh, whom he nominated to serve on the D.C. Circuit court during his term.

According to The Washington Post, the former president has been calling key swing vote senators to whip up support for Kavanaugh, who has been accused by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford of sexually assaulting her at a pool party over 35 years ago. Kavanaugh has denied the allegations and said under oath Thursday that his treatment has been a “national disgrace.”

The Washington Post did not say if the former president had made the calls following Kavanaugh’s powerful testimony on Thursday, though Politico reports that sources close to Bush say he still supports his nomination.

Republican Sens. Susan Collins of Maine, Jeff Flake of Arizona, and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska have all received calls from Bush, who inarguably has more pull with them than President Trump.

Kavanaugh Stands His Ground

Under fire from the rabid left wing mob on Capitol Hill, SCOTUS nominee Brett Kavanaugh won this latest round by standing his ground despite shrieks for guilt until proven innocent. Not even the enduringly disappointing failure of Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) to do anything right in his fading tenure of what is soon to be has-been senator status was enough to dissuade Kavanaugh that he is on the side of the rule of law and justice. His unwavering belief in himself and in the Constitution only served as testimony to why he has earned this nomination and confirmation. Not even Sen. Cory Booker’s juvenile “walkout” can distract from that.

Here’s more from PJ Media…

Supporters of Brett Kavanuagh may have less in common with Kavanaugh’s foes than Senator John C. Calhoun had in common with abolitionist Senator Charles Sumner. Sure, they differed over slavery, but their experiences of family, faith and culture, and their views of America had more in common than the cultural, religious and political chasm that now divides us.

That’s why Kavanaugh’s second appearance before the Senate Judiciary Committee not only shattered the coordinated onslaught of his opponents, but brought sharp focus elsewhere.

Kavanaugh won because he fought back. Kavanaugh won because he was unwilling to suffer from the ritual defamation of the Left. He broke free from the traditional advice administration handlers give nominees — to be deferential and measured to the senators — and went after the Democrats and his opponents for what they are.

Graham Blasts Feinstein for “Most Unethical Sham”

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) threw down the gauntlet during the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Thursday during which he raked Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) repeatedly over the coals for her manipulation of the sexual assault allegations against SCOTUS nominee Brett Kavanaugh. Graham called the gross and overt delay tactics “the most unethical sham since I’ve been in politics.” He charged Feinstein with attempting to “destroy” Kavanaugh with no care either for, Christine Ford. “If you wanted an FBI investigation, then you could have come to us. What you wanted to do was destroy this guy’s life, hold this seat open, and hope you win in 2020. You’ve said that,” Graham continued, “not me.” When a Senator like Lindsey Graham gets fiery and unites the right, you know something serious is going on.

Here’s more from Breitbart…

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) charged in a fiery speech during the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Thursday that the sexual assault allegations, led by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh amount to “the most unethical sham since I’ve been in politics.”
Sen. Graham noted that 23 minutes after President Trump nominated Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said he will oppose Kavanaugh’s nomination “with everything I have” because the “stakes are simply too high.”

The South Carolina Senator knocked ranking member Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) for knowledge of the sexual allegation against Kavanaugh during his meeting with her and the fact that she had already recommended lawyer Debra Katz to Christine Blasey Ford, the woman that now accuses Kavanaugh of assaulting her. Graham blasted Feinstein, saying that she could have come to the Senate Republicans about this accusation well before the Senate Judiciary nomination hearings and, instead, contended that Feinstein wants to “destroy” Kavanaugh’s nomination.

Gillibrand: Kavanaugh “Guilty Until Proven Innocent”

Sen. Kristen Gillibrand (D-NY) reached a new low in political stupidity when she suggested that SCOTUS nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh does not deserve “the presumption of innocence until proven guilty” because “due process” does not apply in the court of public opinion. “To those who I hear say, over and over, this isn’t fair to Judge Kavanaugh, he’s entitled to due process. What about the presumption of innocence until proven guilty? . . . Those are the standards in criminal justice. We are not having a trial. This is not a court.” On that point, she’s right: they aren’t seeking to convict or jail him. Rather they’re merely debating his fitness for the very court charged with guaranteeing due process. Can you say “irony”?

Here’s more from PJ Media…

On Wednesday, Sen. Kristen Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) suggested that Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh does not deserve “the presumption of innocence until proven guilty” because the Senate confirmation is not a criminal trial. Convicting someone in the court of public opinion, ruining his reputation and his career, cannot be restrained by “due process.”

“To those who I hear say, over and over, this isn’t fair to Judge Kavanaugh, he’s entitled to due process. What about the presumption of innocence until proven guilty? Dr. Blasey Ford has to prove her case beyond reasonable doubt,” Gillibrand said, paraphrasing the arguments of people who think Kavanaugh deserves a fair shake. She then attempted to shoot down these arguments.

“Those are the standards for a trial,” the senator declared. “Those are the standards in criminal justice. We are not having a trial. This is not a court.”

“He’s not entitled to those because we’re not actually seeking to convict him or put him in jail,” Gillibrand argued. “We are seeking the truth. We are seeking facts. We are seeking just what happened.”

Kavanaugh Accuser Has Four Corroborators, Except . . .

A report published by USA Today claims that Christine Blasey Ford’s legal team has four persons corroborating her claims of sexual assault c. 1982. While there are “sworn and signed declarations from four people” now in the hands of the Senate Judiciary Committee, all of them are dated years after her 2012 therapy sessions, where Kavanaugh’s name was never mentioned, during which she reportedly divulged the alleged incident more than 35 years ago. What’s more is that three of the statements are from her close friends; the fourth is from her husband. So this is not exactly unbiased testimony from bystanders who were actually witnesses to the alleged assault. Worse for the Dems is that these biased attacks are quickly uniting Republicans behind President Trump ahead of the November elections.

Here’s more from The Daily Wire…

Christine Blasey Ford’s legal team claims to have four people who can corroborate Ford’s claims that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her at a party in 1982.

The claim is misleading.

USA Today published the report just before midnight on Tuesday which quickly spread on Twitter, with many on the political left automatically making the assumption that this was the end for Kavanaugh.

Ford’s lawyers sent “sworn and signed declarations from four people” to the Senate Judiciary Committee, which they claim corroborate Ford’s claim that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her.

All four people who can “corroborate” her claims were told in the years after her 2012 therapy sessions — where she never used Kavanaugh’s name — about the alleged incident from over 35 years ago.

NYT Hides “Multiple Key Facts” in Kavanaugh Coverage

While the Kavanaugh confirmation chaos has devolved into high school-level drama and allegations dating back more than thirty years, the New York Times is facing a #FakeNews dilemma of its own. Apparently its journalists are ferreting out the most granular of detail from SCOTUS nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s high school days in order to do their part in the Democrats’ grand delay scheme. Case in petty point: its Monday “bombshell” detailed a reference made by Kavanaugh in his high school yearbook that was “hurtful” to a girl as part of an inside joke. The Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway was quick to point out that the Times “hid multiple problems with its claims, including that it was sourced to a rabidly anti-Trump politician in Maryland and his associate.” But it should come as no surprise that the left media is colluding with Democrats to “bork” Kavanaugh.

Here’s more from The Daily Wire…

On Monday, The New York Times published a report alleging that Brett Kavanaugh made a reference in one of his high school yearbooks that was “hurtful” to a girl who was part of an inside joke among Kavanaugh and his football buddies. Kavanaugh and four of the guys who’d made the “mysterious” reference (“Renate Alumnius”) to a girl who a few of them said they’d gone on an “innocent date” with at some point responded by saying it was a harmless joke.

Now, the Times is getting blowback not only for the pettiness of the story but for hiding multiple key facts. The Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway reports that the Times “hid multiple problems with its claims, including that it was sourced to a rabidly anti-Trump politician in Maryland and his associate.” Hemingway reports:

The original article published online on Monday night was quickly scrubbed of a reference to a “Mr. Madaleno.” The Times uses full names on first references to sources and titles on second references, though it was the first time his name was mentioned in the article.

Deputy AG Rosenstein “Verbally Resigns”

In breaking news Monday, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has “verbally resigned” from the Department of Justice. That resignation has also been reportedly accepted by Chief of Staff John Kelly. The Daily Wire says that its sources claim Rosenstein was “expecting to be fired” after the New York Times released a bombshell report that he had suggested recording conversations with President Donald Trump as well as “recruiting Cabinet members” to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove the president. Rosenstein disputed the account, arguing that it was “a joke.” Of course, we’ve never heard that excuse from any four-year-old before.

Here’s more from The Daily Wire…

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has “verbally resigned” his position in the Department of Justice, effective Monday, according to reports from Axios and others.

Chief of Staff John Kelly has reportedly accepted Rosenstein’s resignation.

Sources close to Rosenstein told the national security publication that Rosenstein was “expecting to be fired” following a New York Times report from last week detailing conversations Rosenstein allegedly had with other administration officials in which he suggested recording conversations with President Donald Trump and proposed “recruiting Cabinet members” to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove the president from office.

Rosenstein disputed The New York Times’s story, blaming anonymous sources looking to assail his character for the “inaccurate and factually incorrect” allegations.

SC Congressman Makes Stupid SCOTUS Joke, Left Goes Nuts

What happens when a Republican congressman tells a joke about sexual assault and the Supreme Court in the wake of the Kavanaugh ‘scandal’? It doesn’t go over well with the crowd. Alas, that’s what Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC) did during a meeting with the Kiwanis Club when he shared a joke about Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg being groped by Abraham Lincoln: “Did y’all hear this latest late-breaking news from the Kavanaugh hearings? Ruth Bader Ginsburg came out that she was groped by Abraham Lincoln.” After the left went bonkers, Norman responded that folks need to “learn to lighten up.”

Here’s more from PJ Media…

A South Carolina congressman made a joke about the Kavanaugh sexual assault allegations — roping in another Supreme Court justice — during a campaign debate today, with the host Kiwanis Club trying to distance itself from the remarks.

Freshman Rep. Ralph Norman (R-S.C.), who won a June 2017 special election to fill the seat of Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney, faces his opponent from that race, Democratic attorney Archie Parnell, again this November.

According to the Post and Courier, Norman and Parnell were at a Kiwanis Club debate today when Norman told the crowd, “Did y’all hear this latest late-breaking news from the Kavanaugh hearings? Ruth Bader Ginsburg came out that she was groped by Abraham Lincoln.”

“My opponent apparently thinks sexual assault is a joke. It is not. But I guess that’s the best we can expect from someone who pulled a loaded gun on his own constituents,” tweeted Parnell.

McCarthy Bill to Admonish U.S. Cities for Allowing Illegals to Vote

Breitbart News has exclusively confirmed that the U.S. House of Representatives will vote next week on a resolution to admonish U.S. cities for allowing illegal immigrants (including felons) to vote in local elections. The justification: the disenfranchisement of Americans. The left is predictably opposed. Should the bill put forth by Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) pass, it will likely hurt some sensitive liberal feelings in San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, and other sanctuary city strongholds.

Here’ more from Breitbart…

The U.S. House of Representatives will vote next week on a resolution offered by House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy that admonishes U.S. cities for allowing illegal aliens to vote in local elections, as has been confirmed to Breitbart News exclusively.
The measure, which Democrats are expected to oppose, in two pages states that it is the position of the House of Representatives that allowing illegal aliens the right to vote disenfranchises American citizens.

The House resolution text introduced by McCarthy says:

Recognizing that allowing illegal immigrants the right to vote devalues the franchise and diminishes the voting power of United States citizens.

Kavanaugh Accuser Refuses to Testify

Slowly but surely the left is backing itself into a corner having not only brought forth a last-minute allegation of sexual misconduct from nearly 40 years ago just days before a Senate confirmation vote, but now the accuser is also refusing to testify. Lawyers for Christine Blasey Ford are trying to carry on the damsel-in-distress narrative. They claim such a transparent process could be traumatic for the self-proclaimed victim; they also say they want an investigation first. Apparently, they didn’t expect Capitol Hill Republicans to call her bluff or at least to ask for both sides of a story. With less than two weeks until the SCOTUS starts its Fall term, the pressure is on.

Here’s more from The Daily Wire…

First, the Democrats claimed that Republicans didn’t want to hear from the accuser of Judge Brett Kavanaugh. Then when Republicans said they’d love to hear from her, and would she please show up and testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Democrats suggested that such a request was sexist and cruel — that no hearing could be held without an FBI investigation. Now, in an attempt to look forthcoming without actually coming forth with any credible information, the accuser’s lawyers are playing games with the Senate Judiciary Committee.

On Thursday night, lawyers for Christine Blasey Ford outlined a series of demands from the Senate Judiciary Committee in order for Ford to testify under oath. Let it first be said that Kavanaugh has denied all charges and will testify on Monday under oath; if he’s found to be lying, he’ll go to jail for perjury. So this is no game to Kavanaugh.

But it’s a game for Ford’s lawyers. Here were just a few of their demands:

No outside counsel questions her;
The defense testifies first;
Subpoena against Mark Judge.
