Pelosi Pushes Border Wall Termination Bill to Senate

House Democrats-and 13 House Republicans-decisively passed a resolution to “terminate” President Trump’s national emergency declaration to secure the U.S.-Mexico border. The bill now heads to the Senate, where Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has less than eighteen days to bring it for a vote. Though Pelosi only needs four Senate Republicans to join their Democrat counterparts to pass the measure, there are not yet enough votes in either chamber to override a presidential veto. Three Republican senators have already said they support the bill, which begs the question why Pelosi would pursue such a pointless charade. But the question answers itself, doesn’t it?

House Democrats overwhelming passed legislation on Tuesday designed to block President Trump’s national emergency declaration to build a wall on the southern border, Fox News reports.

“Tuesday’s vote marked the first time the House or Senate has tried to terminate a presidential declaration of a national emergency, using the provisions of the National Emergencies Act of 1976,” reports the outlet. “Former Rep. George Miller, D-Calif., attempted a similar effort regarding a national emergency declared by then-President George W. Bush, but the measure never came to a vote on the House floor.”

Tuesday’s bill passed the House by a vote of 245-182. All Democrats voted in favor of the bill and were joined by only 13 Republicans. For the bill to pass the Senate, enough Republicans would have to break party lines, prompting President Trump to issue his first veto that only a two-thirds super-majority could break.

Border Wall Construction Begins in California

Despite the Left wing hysteria and lawsuits, border wall construction is under way in California. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced this week that work has started on replacing 14 miles of steel fence with 30-foot-high steel bollards along the U.S.-Mexico border near San Diego. According to the Associated Press, it is the second layer of barrier to deter illegal immigration in the area. A new section of wall has already been completed in New Mexico, “47 days ahead of schedule!” per a tweet by President Trump. We’re pretty certain Nancy Pelosi is foaming at the mouth right now in her walled-off San Fran estate.

Several days after President Donald Trump declared a national emergency, construction began on the fifth border wall project of his administration.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced Tuesday that work has started on replacing 14 miles of a steel-mesh fence along the U.S.-Mexico border near San Diego, The Associated Press reported. The fence is being replaced with 30-foot high steel bollards. It is actually the second layer of barrier to be put up in the area, with the first layer nearly complete.

SLSCO Ltd., a company located in Galveston, Texas, scored the $101 million contract in December 2018. The Trump administration has already awarded around $1 billion in contracts to cover 97 miles of the southern border, with the project in San Diego being one of the latest.

Trump touted the construction Wednesday of a border wall in New Mexico.

Hillary Chimes In: “There’s No National Emergency at Our Border”

Former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton just can’t move on and accept that her opinion has been relegated to the “no one cares” realm. This time she’s added her two cents, declaring “no national emergency” at our Southern border during a recent interview. “I just don’t think you should call national emergencies unless there truly is a national emergency. There’s no national emergency at our border.” Her remarks are, of course, in response to President Donald Trump’s ultimatum to Nancy Pelosi and the political Left to fund the border wall by Friday, Feb. 15. If they fail to do so, he has promised to declare a national emergency to secure the funding and do it without the political headache. The next four days are going to be interesting.

Here’s more from Breitbart…

Sunday on Showtime’s, “The Circus” former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said President Donald Trump should not declare a national emergency to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border because she argued there was “no national emergency at our border.”

Clinton said, “I just don’t think you should call national emergencies unless there truly is a national emergency. There’s no national emergency at our border. And he’s frustrated because he can’t even get his own party to support his request. And he shouldn’t be breaking new ground and causing new precedents that really may come back to not only haunt him, but our country. He should go through regular order. He couldn’t get Congress when he had Republican control. He can’t get it now. Then work with Congress. Every Democrat, every Republican wants to do what is right to secure our border. They disagree with his demand that there is only one way to do that.”
