Hundreds of Africans Arrive in San Antonio

Hundreds of African illegal aliens from the Ebola-riddled Democratic Republic of Congo arrived in San Antonio last week hoping to take advantage of the Left’s open borders free for all. “It really has been a bit of an anomaly for us,” said Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Raul Ortiz. “I think most of them, you know, obviously are flying to different locations, and then when they find themselves congregating in a location, then they start to formulate a plan just south of the U.S. Mexican border here.” It should come as no surprise that orders from U.S. Customs for them to appear in court are being ignored. In other words, they’re strolling right into the U.S.

Valerie and her son took a walk around this city’s downtown area on Monday after spending three months on a treacherous trek from Brazil, through Central America to Texas.

Valerie, a Congolese woman, fled her war-torn country with her family and is now trying to create a new life here.

“We left the Congo because there weren’t any resources for us…my son has really liked it here. I’ve liked it here, as well. It’s for this reason I’ve come here to figure out my life, to improve my life,” she said in French.

Valerie is one of hundreds of African migrants who arrived in San Antonio last week. City leaders said they weren’t given a heads up and quickly scrambled to accommodate them and quickly recruit several French-speaking volunteers who could serve as translators.

Trump’s Tariff Threats Working Already

Mexico has finally blocked a 1,000-strong caravan of illegal immigrants en route to the unsecured U.S.-Mexico border just days after President Trump threatened a series of escalatory tariffs against our southern neighbor. According to a report by the Associated Press, hundreds of migrants agreed to go to a Mexican migrant detention center after being confronted by about 200 Mexican police, though others resisted and fled into the forest to evade arrest. A Mexican delegation has met with White House officials ahead of President Trump’s June 10 deadline for Mexico to do its part or face a 5% tariff (to escalate to 25% by October) on all Mexican goods imported into the U.S. In other words, Trump was right: money talks.

Here’s more from Washington Examiner…

Mexico apprehended about 1,000 migrants after President Trump threatened to slap tariffs on the country over its lax border policies.

About 200 Mexican military police intercepted the caravan walking north along a highway in southern Mexico on Wednesday, according to the Associated Press. The migrants told officers they planned to travel to the U.S. and claim asylum.

Some migrants resisted and others fled into the forest on either side of the highway, but the vast majority of those in the caravan complied with orders from Mexican officials. Hundreds of migrants agreed to go to a migrant detention center.

Poll: 2-in-3 Americans Oppose “Catch-and-Release”

The latest Harvid/Harris Poll confirms that a clear majority of Americans reject releasing illegal immigrants into the interior of the United States to await their asylum court hearings. Instead, 2-in-3 Americans think self-proclaimed asylum seekers should be immediately turned back to their country of origin to await a hearing from the other side of the border. Per the poll, less than 35% of all voters support such “catch and release” practices by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The poll also reveals that 47% want the asylum system fixed to stop massive fraud and abuse of America’s generosity. Ahead of the 2020 election, these numbers do not bode well for Democratic hopefuls.

The majority of American voters oppose releasing border crossers applying for asylum into the interior of the United States while they await their court hearings, a new poll finds.

The latest Harvard/Harris Poll reveals that about 2-in-3 Americans, or 66 percent, said they oppose the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) releasing border crossers into the U.S. while they await their asylum claims process. Instead, voters said border crossers should be immediately turned back to Mexico while awaiting their asylum hearing.

Less than 35 percent of all voters said they supported releasing border crossers into the U.S. — including only 32 percent of swing voters and less than 30 percent of self-described “moderates.”

NYT Editorial Board: “President Trump is Right”

Stop the presses! A harsh reality check appears to have cured the New Yorks Times editorial board of Trump Derangement Syndrome. Quoth the editors: “President Trump is right: There is a crisis at the southern border”. They went on to call on the Democrats to put aside “political gamesmanship” and put America first to solve the problem at the border. Though they stopped short of acknowledging that drug cartels and terrorists are exploiting the Swiss cheese situation, the Left’s vanguard rag admits that diseases are rampant among the migrant hordes. Nancy Pelosi’s stonewalling on wall funding may soon begin to crumble.

Here’s more from The Daily Wire…

es, you read that right, but, no, The New York Times editorial board explicitly does not mean money for his “big, beautiful” wall. Nonetheless, the nation’s left-leaning newspaper of record is conceding that not only is there a crisis at the southern border — as Trump has been hammering repeatedly and Democrats have been denying obstinately for months — it’s so severe that the Times is actually calling for Democrats to put aside “political gamesmanship” and do the one thing they’re most committed not to do: actually work with Trump to do something good for the country when it comes to illegal immigration.

“President Trump is right: There is a crisis at the southern border. Just not the one he rants about,” the Times editorial board writes in an editorial published Sunday.

What is supposedly not happening at the border, according to the Times, is undocumented people secretly crossing over who pose a national security risk.

Mexico Reveals 300,000 Migrants Traveled to U.S. in 2019

Some 300,000 migrants from as far away as Asia and Africa have traveled through Mexico to illegally migrate to the United States in just the first three months of 2019, according to a report from the Mexican government. Mexico Interior Secretary Olga Sanchez Cordero noted a “change in the flow of migrants who are entering our country,” though she did not specify the estimation process or what led to the conclusion that the intended final destination for these migrants was the United States. The majority of migrants continue to originate from Honduras and other Central American countries. The U.S. Border Patrol separately reported the apprehension of 361,087 illegal immigrants between October 2018 and March 2019. A crisis indeed.

Here’s more from Breitbart…

The Mexican government is reporting that 300,000 migrants from around the globe have traveled through Mexico in the first three months of 2019 to gain entry into the United States at its southern border.

While the majority of the migrants, the Mexican government says, are from Honduras and other countries in Central America, individuals from Cuba, Africa, and southern Asia have also been identified in the migrant caravans.

And Mexico Interior Secretary Olga Sánchez Cordero notes that these migrants want to get into the United States “illegally.”

“It’s estimated that during the first three months of the year, more than 300,000 migrants have transited through Mexico to enter the United States illegally,” Sanchez Cordero says. “There’s a change in the flow of migrants who are entering our country.”

Lindsey Graham Preps Crackdown on Migrant Flood

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) is shifting the fight from the border security stalemate to one focused on revisiting America’s asylum laws, revealing his plan during a Fox News interview on Sunday. “I’m tired of talking about this problem. I want to fix it…The president has correctly identified the crisis at the border. Now it’s time to have a legislative solution. You need to change our laws for this to stop.” Graham is specifically focused on changing the law to allow immigration authorities to send migrant children back to their home countries in Central America, something currently limited to contiguous countries, such as Canada and Mexico. One might imagine that such an idea states the obvious, but common sense isn’t all that common anymore. Whether or not anything at all happens in DC, regardless of the conviction, remains to be seen. We’re not holding our breath.

Here’s more from Washington Examiner…

Sen. Lindsey Graham plans to introduce a legislative package that would change the country’s asylum laws in an effort to stem the influx of migrants crossing the southern border.

The South Carolina Republican revealed his immigration plan during an interview Sunday.

“I’m tired of talking about this problem. I want to fix it. I think all Americans should want both parties to fix this problem,” Graham told Fox News. “The president has correctly identified the crisis at the border, now it’s time to have a legislative solution. You need to change our laws for this to stop, so I’ll be introducing a package — and hopefully with Democratic support — that will change our asylum laws. Ninety percent of the people apply for asylum never make it, so the standard needs to change.”

Graham said he plans to put together the legislative package once Congress returns to Washington, D.C., from recess on April 29. The Senate Judiciary Committee, which Graham helms, will then mark up the measure, he said.

Supreme Court Sides with Trump

The Supreme Court ruled 5-4 with the Trump administration Tuesday that immigration authorities can detain noncitizens for possible deportation regardless of when or if prison sentences have been served. The case was brought by the ACLU, which argued that the federal government cannot exceed the strict 24-hour time limit on detentions of illegal immigrants pending deportation following release from prison.” As we have held time and again, an official’s crucial duties are better carried out late than never,” Justice Samuel Alito wrote for the majority. This is a major victory for Trump in the battle with Congress over the emergency declaration amid a massive upsurge in illegal crossings in recent months.

Here’s more from The Daily Caller…

A deeply divided Supreme Court ruled that immigration authorities can detain noncitizens for possible deportation long after they serve prison sentences for criminal convictions.

The ACLU had argued that federal law imposes a strict time limit on when government officials can detain aliens for deportation after they are released from jail.

Thousands of noncitizens could be affected by Tuesday’s ruling.

The Supreme Court sided with the Trump administration Tuesday in a dispute over the federal government’s power to arrest certain noncitizens who commit crimes and hold them in immigration jails before a deportation proceeding.

The five to four decision was met with a vigorous dissent from the Court’s liberal bloc led by Justice Stephen Breyer, who said the majority was enabling the detention and possible deportation of foreign nationals for minor crimes they committed in the distant past.

Lindsey Graham: If 1 Million Flooding the Border is not a Crisis, “What the Hell Would Be?”

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) just drove a stake through the heart of the Left’s “no crisis” lies about President Trump’s border security national emergency. During an interview with Sean Hannity, Graham confirmed that the U.S. is being “flooded.” He demanded, “If this is not a crisis, what the hell would be?” His remarks were made in the wake of Homeland Defense Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen’s testimony before the House Judiciary Committee Wednesday during which she revealed that an estimated 900,000 illegal immigrants were expected to cross our border by the end of this year. Migrants aside, the Left continues to ignore the reality of rampant drug trafficking, human trafficking, and terrorism.

Here’s more from Breitbart…

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) told Sean Hannity on Fox News that the United States is being “flooded” with people coming across the U.S. border with Mexico, and it is indeed a “crisis.”

“If this is not a crisis, what the hell would be?” Graham said in the interview, which comes ahead of the Senate’s vote on President Donald Trump’s national emergency declaration to allow federal funds to be used to build a wall. “We’re being flooded.”

“The numbers are just through the roof,” Graham said.

Those numbers include family units being apprehended at the border up 335 percent over the last year and the apprehension of unaccompanied minors up 55 percent.

As Breitbart News reported, Homeland Defense secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said at a House Judiciary Committee hearing on Wednesday that an estimated 900,000 people are expected will be counted as border apprehensions by the end of the year.

The nation’s border defense system “is clearly breaking,” Nielsen said. “We need a barrier.”

Socialist Bernie Hires Illegal Immigrant Press Secretary

Socialist 2020 contender Bernie Sanders has thrown down the gauntlet to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement by deliberately hiring illegal immigrant and Arizona Left wing activist Belen Sisa to become his press secretary. According to the Washington Examiner, Sisa is protected from deportation by Barack Obama’s Deferred Action for Childood Arrivals. Ironically, Sanders and his fellow members of the Democratic caucus in the Senate don’t appear interested in Trump’s compromise to move these DACA kids “out of the shadows.”

Here’s more from Washington Examiner…

Sen. Bernie Sanders’ new deputy national press secretary likely won’t be eligible to vote in the 2020 election due to what she says is her status as an undocumented immigrant.

The hiring of Belen Sisa, an Arizona leftist activist, was announced Wednesday evening. Sisa, who says she was brought to this country illegally from Argentina by her parents at age six, is currently protected from deportation under President Barack Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, program.

Despite her immigration status, Sisa has remained active in liberal politics over the years. In 2016, she worked as a page to the Arizona delegation at the Democratic National Convention and in Latino outreach for Sanders’ 2016 campaign.

Pelosi Pushes Border Wall Termination Bill to Senate

House Democrats-and 13 House Republicans-decisively passed a resolution to “terminate” President Trump’s national emergency declaration to secure the U.S.-Mexico border. The bill now heads to the Senate, where Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has less than eighteen days to bring it for a vote. Though Pelosi only needs four Senate Republicans to join their Democrat counterparts to pass the measure, there are not yet enough votes in either chamber to override a presidential veto. Three Republican senators have already said they support the bill, which begs the question why Pelosi would pursue such a pointless charade. But the question answers itself, doesn’t it?

Here’s more from The Daily Wire…

House Democrats overwhelming passed legislation on Tuesday designed to block President Trump’s national emergency declaration to build a wall on the southern border, Fox News reports.

“Tuesday’s vote marked the first time the House or Senate has tried to terminate a presidential declaration of a national emergency, using the provisions of the National Emergencies Act of 1976,” reports the outlet. “Former Rep. George Miller, D-Calif., attempted a similar effort regarding a national emergency declared by then-President George W. Bush, but the measure never came to a vote on the House floor.”

Tuesday’s bill passed the House by a vote of 245-182. All Democrats voted in favor of the bill and were joined by only 13 Republicans. For the bill to pass the Senate, enough Republicans would have to break party lines, prompting President Trump to issue his first veto that only a two-thirds super-majority could break.
