Democrat: Obama Hid Number of Underage Illegal immigrants

Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) did not mince words during an interview with CNN Saturday, revealing “The Obama administration was trying to keep this quiet.”

“This” being the nearly 70,000 unaccompanied minors apprehended at the U.S.-Mexico border in 2014.

On Friday, the Department of Homeland Security confirmed nearly 2,000 minors were separated from guardians at the border between April 19 and May 31–2,000 in roughly 6 weeks!

The separation is due to Obama era rules that of-age illegal immigrants cannot be prosecuted when accompanied by minors and who are to be housed by Health and Human Services in a sort of legal status limbo while the cases play out.

The Obama-era separations were no doubt kept quiet with the help of the MSM along with the pictures of minors and self-proclaimed minors in detention facilities.

Here’s more from Washington Examiner…

Rep. Henry Cuellar, D-Texas, said the Obama administration attempted to keep “quiet” about how many unaccompanied minors were crossing the border and that children were being held in detention centers.

“There were large numbers of people coming in,” Cuellar said in an interview with CNN on Saturday. “The Obama administration was trying to keep this quiet.”

According to the Washington Post, nearly 70,000 unaccompanied minors were apprehended at the border in 2014.

The comments come after the Department of Homeland Security confirmed Friday that nearly 2,000 minors were separated from guardians at the border since the Trump administration started enforcing a zero-tolerance policy to prosecute all illegal immigrants.
