St. Lawrence Wants to Revoke Sen. Collins’ Honorary Degree Because of Kavanaugh

Nearly 2,000 alumni and faculty from Sen. Susan Collins’ (R-ME) prestigious alma mater, St. Lawrence University, want to revoke her honorary degree because she voted for Justice Kavanaugh. Or, to be more specific, she favors innocence for those not yet proven guilty. Of course, it all makes sense when the context of this honorary degree is considered. It – an honorary doctorate of Humane Letters – was awarded because she did not vote to repeal ObamaCare. In the wake of the Kavanaugh kerfuffle, however, the letter ironically – and rather hysterically – proclaims that she lacks “the integrity and commitment to justice that we expect from the St. Lawrence body.” These days justice is whatever the left decides it is.

Here’s more from The Daily Wire…

Nearly 2,000 alumni and faculty members from Sen. Susan Collins’ (R-ME) alma mater have demanded the university revoke her most recent honorary degree to “dismantle rape culture.”

Collins received an honorary degree from St. Lawrence University in 2017 – an honorary doctorate of Humane Letters – because she did not vote to repeal Obamacare. But now that she has voted to confirm Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, she lacks “the integrity and commitment to justice that we expect from the St. Lawrence body,” according to a letter signed by more than 1,300 alums.

So, if she does something liberal liberals like, she gets rewarded. If she does something liberals don’t like, she must be punished.

The letter claims Collins should lose the honorary degree “in support of truth and for all of the victims of sexual assault and violence, of which many of her fellow alumni and students have suffered.”
