Now There’s a “Green New Deal” for the Poor

Kamala Harris (D-CA) and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) are teaming up to introduce the “Green New Deal” for poor people: the “Climate Equity Act.” The plan proposes regulations that address: “impact on low-income communities, which are disproportionately affected by climate change.” Unsurprisingly, no specifics were offered on how the bill will put entire industries out of business thus creating an even greater economic crisis for those purported to benefit from such regulations. In other words, the Left is bereft of any shred of logic.

Here’s more from Breitbart…

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) announced Monday that they will jointly introduce a bill related to the “Green New Deal” called the “Climate Equity Act,” aimed at poor communities.

The two touted their proposal as a “landmark” piece of legislation.

Harris is already a co-sponsor of the Senate version of Ocasio-Cortez’s “Green New Deal,” which aims to move the entire U.S. economy from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources in a decade, alongside a raft of welfare policies.

Illinois Governor Signs “Equitable Restrooms Act”

Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker (D) signed SB 556, the “Equitable Restrooms Act,” into law on Friday requiring every single-occupancy restroom in “places of public accommodation” to be labeled as gender neutral. The Illinois Human Rights Act defines that a “place of public accommodation” includes movie theaters, concert halls, hotels, restaurants, grocery stores, clothing stores, and laundromats. Though the move is being hailed as an equal rights victory for the transgender community, common sense is prevailing on social media, where the headline is getting trolled, with commentators asking, “Why not just call it a bathroom?” since it is for one person only regardless of gender. Proof yet again that common sense isn’t all that common.

Here’s more from The Daily Wire…

On April 11, the Illinois state Senate voted 53-0 in favor of SB 556, otherwise known as the “Equitable Restrooms Act,” which would have all single-occupancy restrooms in “places of public accommodation” be labeled as gender-neutral.

On May 21, the state House passed the bill on a 109-5 vote, and on Friday, Democratic Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed the legislation into law.

The text of the law reads in part:

(b) This Section applies to any existing or future places of public accommodation or public buildings.

(c) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, every single-occupancy restroom in a place of public accommodation or public building shall be identified as all-gender and designated for use by no more than one person at a time or for family or assisted use.

Former MSNBC Host Shreds Network for “Feverish Russian Conspiracy Theories”

While cohosting The Hill’s “Rising,” host Krystal Ball blasted her former employer MSNBC for its “feverish Russian conspiracy theories” and pondered “just how much damage has MSNBC in particular done to the Left.” Likening the network to the fringe Infowars, Ball fumed, “I dare to say, some talent did drink more deeply of the Russian conspiracy waters than others. Rachel Maddow, you’ve got some explaining to do.” Alas, we’re perfectly fine with Maddow digging a deeper hole. In fact, here’s another shovel.

Here’s more from The Daily Wire…

Ex-MSNBC host Krystal Ball slammed her former network on Thursday for promoting “feverish Russian conspiracy theories,” comparing the far-left network to Infowars and saying they are “not journalism.”

Ball, who made the remarks while co-hosting The Hill’s “Rising,” launched the attacks against her former network after Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s disastrous testimony on Wednesday in front of Congress.

“I can no longer avoid pondering a question which honestly gives me no joy to ponder: just how much damage has MSNBC in particular done to the Left?” Ball said.

Here’s more from Breitbart…

An editor at CNN has resigned after a series of antisemitic comments he made resurfaced on Thursday.

CNN’s statement accepting the resignation of the editor makes clear the editor had worked at CNN for some time, and had made the antisemitic statements back in 2011.

The tweets from Mohammed Elshamy, a photo editor for CNN, first surfaced earlier on Thursday. They were until then still public on Elshamy’s Twitter account.

Biden: Christians Made a “Faustian Bargain” with Trump

During an interview with the Indianapolis Star, Joe Biden argued that Christians made a “Faustian bargain” with Trump in their support for his candidacy. “I think the bargain is as long as you say you’re going to take on the LGBTQ community, as long as you say you’re going to end abortion in any circumstances, as long as you say those things, we will overlook your personal conduct. We will overlook the things you say.” The problem for Biden is that’s a misapplication of the term “Faustian.” In Goethe’s iconic work, Faust gets double-crossed by the Devil and ultimately loses everything in the end. Trump and his Christian base, however, appear to be winning quite a bit despite the Left’s insurgency.

Here’s more from Breitbart…

Former Vice President Joe Biden claimed on Thursday that Christians have made a “Faustian bargain,” with President Donald Trump.

Biden made the claim during an interview with the Indianapolis Star wherein he was asked why Christians, including Vice President Mike Pence, had embraced Trump so thoroughly. Biden responded that Christians had made a Faustian bargain — a term used to describe someone selling their soul — with Trump in exchange for him supporting their socially conservative positions.

“Look, I think they made a Faustian bargain,” the former vice president said. “And I think the bargain is, as long as you say you’re going to take on the LGBTQ community, as long as you say you’re going to end abortion in any circumstances, as long as you say those things, we will overlook your personal conduct, we will overlook the things you say.”

Dems Go After Mueller for Hearing Gone Wrong

The Left is losing it after former special counsel Robert Mueller single-handedly sunk their entire collusion delusion lifeboat in Wednesday’s hearing. Left wing “filmmaker” Michael Moore got especially personal in his attack against the former witch hunt ringmaster, tweeting: “A frail old man, unable to remember things, stumbling, refusing to answer basic questions…I said it in 2017, and Mueller confirmed it today-all you pundits and moderates and lame Dems who told the public to put their faith in the esteemed Robert Mueller-just STFU from now on.” Is it too much to hope they follow his advice? And now new evidence is suggesting Mueller actually conspired to hide evidence of deep state collusion. The rabbit hole is getting ever deeper.

Here’s more from Fox News…

Former Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s mythic profile — built over a period of two years by Trump detractors hoping his investigation and later his testimony would pave the way for the president’s removal from office — took a hit Wednesday as the veteran lawman was seen stumbling through questions and at times unclear about the contents of his own report.

Now, some of President Trump’s biggest critics are turning their ire toward the legend himself, panning his performance at this high-stakes forum, even though Mueller repeatedly made clear he did not wish to testify in the first place.

“Much as I hate to say it, this morning’s hearing was a disaster,” Harvard Law Professor Laurence Tribe tweeted, in reference to Mueller’s testimony before the House Judiciary Committee. Tribe is an outspoken critic of Trump who often calls for his impeachment and indictment. He noted Mueller’s appearance failed to provide the made-for-TV moment that Democrats could rally behind in their efforts to bring down the president.

Mueller, the “Magician of Omission”?

A quiet deep dive into former special counsel Robert Mueller’s final report on the collusion delusion reveals that he may have deliberately left out critical details that would expose the investigation for what it was-a witch hunt. From The Hill: “The evidence I reviewed suggests Mueller’s handiwork may be exposed for glaring omissions that, when brought to public light, leave key questions unanswered, especially about how the FBI’s unprecedented probe of the Trump campaign started.” AG Barr’s handpicked investigator is looking into if and when FBI sources were put into contact with the Trump campaign for the purpose of surveillance. We think the answer is fairly obvious, but we’ll wait.

Here’s more from The Hill…

While most of the political world focused its attention elsewhere, special prosecutor John Durham’s team quietly reached out this summer to a lawyer representing European academic Joseph Mifsud, one of the earliest and most mysterious figures in the now closed Russia-collusion case.

An investigator told Swiss attorney Stephan Roh that Durham’s team wanted to interview Mifsud, or at the very least review a recorded deposition the professor gave in summer 2018 about his role in the drama involving Donald Trump, Russia and the 2016 election.

The contact, confirmed by multiple sources and contemporaneous email, sent an unmistakable message: Durham, the U.S. attorney handpicked by Attorney General William Barr to determine whether the FBI committed abuses during the Russia investigation, is taking a second look at one of the noteworthy figures and the conclusions of former special counsel Robert Mueller’s final report.

IG: Comey Was Secretly Trying to Build a Case Against Trump

A forthcoming report by Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz alleges that former FBI Director James Comey was secretly trying to build a conspiracy case against the president. “Even as he [Comey] repeatedly assured Trump that he was not a target, the former director was secretly trying to build a conspiracy case against the president, while at times acting as an investigative agent,” reported RealClearInvestigations’ Paul Sperry. This bombshell reinforces the fact that the “Russia collusion” investigation was nothing but a witch hunt all along.

Here’s more from The Daily Wire…

According to RealClearInvestigations, a soon-to-be-filed report by Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz alleges that former FBI Director James Comey “was secretly trying to build a conspiracy case against the president, while at times acting as an investigative agent.”

In a lengthy report published Monday, RealClearInvestigations’ Paul Sperry reveals what he says might be the answer to one of the most “enduring and consequential” of questions involving the Russia probe: Why did Comey tell Trump privately that he wasn’t the target of an investigation but then refuse to say the same publicly?

It was this refusal that was the fatal wedge between the two that ultimately resulted in the president unceremoniously firing Comey, an action that triggered accusations of “obstruction of justice” against Trump, one of the two focuses of the Robert Mueller investigation.

Biden “Can’t Promise” You Can Keep Your Doctor

Former Vice President Joe Biden is running on a “public option” healthcare proposal [read Obamacare 2.0]… and has already confessed he “can’t promise” that if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. “Well, look, I can’t promise – I can promise them that if, in fact, the private insurance they have is kept by their company, they keep whoever that plan allows. That’s all I can promise.” A keystone of the new plan is to reinforce ObamaCare and expand coverage with a new, free “public health insurance option,” which will undermine the free market, causing “private” health insurance to implode under the taxpayer burden of socialized medicine. In other words, VA healthcare for everyone.

Here’s more from Breitbart…

Former Vice President Joe Biden said on Sunday he “can’t promise” individuals will be allowed to keep their existing doctors if his new public option healthcare proposal is implemented.

Biden, who was instrumental in helping President Barack Obama pass the Affordable Care Act (ACA), made the admission to the Washington Examiner while campaigning in Nevada.

“Well look, I can’t promise — I can promise them that if in fact the private insurance they have is kept by their company, they keep whoever that plan allows,” Biden told the outlet. “That’s all I can promise.”

Democrats Vote to Double Minimum Wage

Forget a market-driven economy. The Democrat-led House just voted 231-199 to double the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour, with just six Democrats voting against the “Raise the Wage Act.” This bill itself will incrementally raise the minimum wage-the first increase in a decade, if passed-over the next seven years. Yet, the Congressional Budget Office estimates that 1.3 million people could lose their jobs, while other scenarios predict as many as 3.7 million could get a pink slip. Translation: redistribution of wealth never ends well.

Here’s more from Washington Examiner…

The Democrat-led House voted to raise the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour, more than double the current rate of $7.25, and the first proposed increase in a decade.

The legislation, approved 231 to 199, now goes to the Republican-led Senate, which is not expected to take it up. Six Democrats voted against the bill, while three Republicans voted in favor of it.

The bill, the Raise the Wage Act, would increase the minimum wage in increments over seven years.

The new wage floor was originally intended to be phased in over five years, but it was amended this week at the urging of centrist Democrats to have an extra year.
