‘It’s A Disaster’: Joe Biden’s Gun Plan Could Bankrupt The Firearms Industry, Advocates Say

President-elect Joe Biden’s gun control plan, which in part seeks to remove liability protections on firearm manufacturers and dealers, could bankrupt major players in the weapons industry, two advocates said.

The former vice president’s “Plan To End Our Gun Violence Epidemic” seeks to repeal the Protection of Lawful Commerce In Arms Act, which affords firearms dealers and manufacturers legal protection against lawsuits that may result from the misuse of weapons or ammunition sold to the public. Such a measure would effectively leave dealers and sellers vulnerable to wrongful death and injury lawsuits that target the weapon, rather than the perpetrator, senior vice president of the Gun Owners of America Erich Pratt told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

“[Biden’s plan] means that gun manufacturers could ultimately be put out of business through frivolous lawsuits, Pratt said in a phone interview.“It’s totally irresponsible, imagine holding Ford or GM responsible for the damage caused by hit-and-run drivers. We wouldn’t tolerate that and yet that’s exactly the type of legal theory they’re trying to put on gun manufacturers.”

Kevin Jamison, a Missouri self-defense lawyer and firearms trainer, said “The guys pushing these lawsuits, they don’t care if they win. They care if they can force these companies to hemorrhage money. They are in the business of putting gun companies out of business.” Read more…

Biden Deputy Chief of Staff Proposed Mandatory Confiscation of “Assault Weapons” as Beto Campaign Manager

A Biden campaign operative tasked as a deputy chief of staff in Biden’s supposedly incoming presidential administration called for the mandatory confiscation of “assault weapons” as Beto O’Rourke’s campaign manager.

“We are actually the only campaign with a plan…that supports mandatory buybacks of weapons of war,” says Dillon of the Beto campaign in the video. “An assault weapon ban is very, very important, and we need to have it. But that only takes weapons of war off the streets in the future. It does nothing for weapons of war that are currently out there.”

Dillon goes on to clarify that the Beto gun confiscation plan would affect “15 to 16 million” guns, an unprecedented usurpation of private property on the part of the United States government. Beto generally avoided explaining how he’d enforce the draconian ban, alluding to tax penalties that would pile up on Americans who insist on their Second Amendment rights.

Joe Biden has shied away from a policy as outrageous as a full “assault weapon” mandatory buyback as a candidate, but his tentative Vice President, Kamala Harris, has supported a variant of it. Read more…

Gun Sales Smash Records. Are Americans Preparing For War?

The National Shooting Sports Foundation reports some astonishing figures for gun sales in 2020:

Nearly 5 million Americans purchased a firearm for the very first time in 2020. NSSF surveyed firearm retailers which reported that 40 percent of sales were conducted to purchasers who have never previously owned a firearm.

NSSF tracks the background checks associated with the sale of a firearm based on the FBI’s National Instant Background Check System (NICS). NSSF-adjusted NICS checks for January through July 2020 is a record 12.1 million, which is up 71.7 percent from the 7.1 million NSSF-adjusted NICS January through July 2019. This equates to nearly 5 million first-time gun owners in the first seven months of 2020.

Certainly, many of those sales are related to home defense. The climate in America is becoming more dangerous and the rhetoric of revolution is being used freely and openly. This has turned some who might have been wishy-washy about guns into Second Amendment believers.

“This is a tectonic shift in the firearm and ammunition industry marketplace and complete transformation of today’s gun-owning community,” said Lawrence G. Keane, a senior vie president at the foundation. Read more…

New York Attorney General Sues to Dissolve the NRA Citing Financial Irregularities

New York Attorney General Letitia James announced Thursday that the state is suing the National Rifle Association (NRA) and several of its high-profile leaders, and looking to “dissolve” the organization over alleged financial irregularities.

The NY AG announced early Thursday that her office was planning a major announcement that would have a national impact. Although many anticipated an investigation or charges against President Donald Trump or members of his family, the NY AG said she was suing to “dissolve” the NRA over “fraud and abuse,” citing recent reports and an internal investigation she claims show fiscal mismanagement.

“I filed a lawsuit to dissolve the National Rifle Association for years of self-dealing and illegal conduct. The @NRA is fraught with fraud and abuse. No organization is above the law,” James wrote on Twitter.

The lawsuit, James claims, is a consumer interest move designed to protect NRA members and donors. Read more…

CA Judge Throws Out Law Requiring Background Checks For Ammo

Courts are still busying fighting the good fight to protect our freedoms. Even during a crisis, they aren’t shutting their doors.

It seems some blue states have used the pandemic to push their left-wing agenda. Some governors even tried to shut down gun stores to prevent Americans from arming themselves.

But a federal court just struck a blow for the Second Amendment. In one of the bluest states, to boot. Read more…

Trump Vows To ‘Always’ Uphold 2A

During a rally with supporters in New Hampshire, President Trump promised unequivocal support for the Second Amendment. “We can’t make it harder for good, solid, law-abiding citizens to protect themselves,” President Trump argued. “We will always uphold the right to self-defense, and we will always uphold the Second Amendment.” He also made clear his stance that “It’s not the gun that pulls the trigger. It’s the person that pulls the trigger.” Unlike the Left which just wants to confiscate guns, President Trump is focused on improving mental healthcare resources and getting to the root of the problem in the wake of the Dayton and El Paso mass shootings. We don’t expect any gun-grabbing bills to get signed into law in the near future.

Here’s more from The Hill…

President Trump on Thursday told supporters in New Hampshire that he would “always uphold the Second Amendment” and suggested that the construction of new mental health facilities would help curb gun violence.

The president lamented the lack of mental health institutions as he spoke about the need to keep guns away from people with mental illnesses. The comments come as the White House and Congress examine new gun laws after recent mass shootings in Dayton, Ohio, and El Paso, Texas.

“It’s not the gun that pulls the trigger. It’s the person that pulls the trigger,” Trump said, earning a roar of approval from the crowd in Manchester.

Gun Grab Coming in September

Be ready to “cling to your guns and Constitution” because according to Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY), “assault weapons” ban legislation is coming in fast and furious in September when Congress returns from recess. Along with an attack on scary-looking guns, background checks and “red flag” laws are also up for consideration. During an appearance on the Louisville, Kentucky, Terry Meiners Show, McConnell made it clear that something will pass commenting, “What we can’t do is fail to pass something.”

Here’s more from Breitbart…

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) indicated an “assault weapons” ban and other gun controls would be “front and center” when the Senate reconvenes in September.

The Courier-Journal reports that McConnell was a guest on the Louisville, KY, Terry Meiners Show where he said, “What we can’t do is fail to pass something,” adding, “The urgency of this is not lost on any of us.”

NPR reports that McConnell addressed an “assault weapons” ban, saying: “We had that ban for about a 10-year period. There’s a good deal of dispute about whether it actually had an impact or not.

Beto Supports Gun Confiscation

In case anyone was wondering, yes, White House wannabe “Beto” O’Rourke (D-TX) confirms his plans to confiscate our guns. In a recent interview, the arm-waving Texan revealed his support for gun licensing and mandatory buybacks. “At the end of the day, if it’s going to save lives, if it’s going to prevent the kinds of tragedies that we saw in El Paso, Gilroy, and Dayton…then let’s move forward and do it.” We hasten to remind Beto that Chicago and California have failed to stop mass shootings despite some of the most draconian licensing regulations and purchasing requirements.

Here’s more from Breitbart…

Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke told podcast host Jon Favreau that he supports the idea of making gun licensing and mandatory buybacks part of the conversation revolving around the El Paso and Dayton shootings.

Favreau commented on gun licensing and mandatory buybacks in Australia and asked if O’Rourke would support them as president?

O’Rourke responded, “Yes. And I’m open to them right now as a candidate.”

California Town Wants to be a 2A Sanctuary

The tiny town of Needles, California, wants to be a “sanctuary city” for the Second Amendment in the otherwise Left coast gun-control stronghold. The city council voted unanimously last month declaring it as such and cited encroachment of the state’s strict gun laws on residents’ constitutional gun rights. The city also wants a new gun law tweaked that outlaws residents from bringing in ammunition from other states when the nearest California stores are more than 100 miles away, while Arizona is “local.” Look for more municipalities to push back against Leftist collectivism, which may trigger key SCOTUS decisions in the near future.

Here’s more from AP News…

The Old West desert town of Needles, California, is where the beleaguered Joad family crossed the Colorado River into California in John Steinbeck’s classic novel “The Grapes of Wrath” and was a boyhood home to “Peanuts” creator Charles Schulz.

These days, Needles is gaining notoriety for another reason. Leaders have declared it a “sanctuary city” for people who believe California’s strict gun laws have encroached too much on their constitutional right to keep and bear arms.

The City Council in the town of 5,000 that borders Arizona and is a few miles from the southern tip of Nevada last month unanimously declared Needles a “2nd Amendment Sanctuary City.” The vote had no immediate practical impact on how guns are treated in the city.
