Constitutional Carry Bill Clears Louisiana State Senate

The Louisiana state senate just approved a bill that will make Constitutional Carry the law of the land. Louisianans 21 and older will no longer need to obtain a permit in order to exercise their second amendment right to concealed carry a firearm.

The bill passed on a veto-proof 27 to 11 vote.

“It is about freedom, freedom to do what you want to in this world and to be able to protect your family and your property without having to ask the government for permission,” said bill author and West Monroe Senator Jay Morris. Morris clarified that felons would still not be eligible to carry a firearm under the new law.

Houma Senator “Big” Mike Fesi was a big supporter of the bill. Fesi cited a recent mass shooting in Houma as an example of how bills such as this can save lives.

“Friday night we had five people shot in one of the clubs in Houma, if somebody would have been carrying they could have probably took the guy out now they still trying to find who it was,” said Fesi.

The legislation also allows any American visiting Louisiana from out of state to conceal carry a firearm without a permit. Read more…

Alabama Advances Constitutional Carry, 2A Sanctuary Bills

Two bills to loosen permit requirements and banning enforcement of federal gun laws from the was approved by the Alabama House last Tuesday.

One of the measures, HB405, otherwise referred to as “constitutional carry,” was also criticized for potentially undoing parts of bill – HB308 –which allows people to purchase lifetime permits to carry concealed handguns.

The other bill, SB358, also called the Alabama Second Amendment Preservation Act, creates civil penalties against local law enforcement officials should they enforce federal gun laws in the state. Read more…

Supreme Court May Federalize Constitutional Carry

The Supreme Court announced Monday that it will decide a core gun rights issue: Whether the Second Amendment requires states to give permits to law-abiding citizens to carry concealed weapons.

The Second Amendment protects “the right to keep and bear arms.” The Supreme Court held in its 2008 landmark decision District of Columbia v. Heller that the Second Amendment guarantees that right for private citizens. In its 2010 follow-up case McDonald v. City of Chicago the Court held that the right to bear arms applies against state and local governments the same way it does the federal government.

But both of those cases involved a law-abiding citizen who wanted to keep a single handgun in his home for personal protection, which would be the absolute floor of what the Second Amendment could possibly provide. It left all other issues for future cases as to how far the right to keep and bear arms extends.

Perhaps the most heavily debated follow up issue is what a citizen’s Second Amendment rights are when he leaves his home. Given the popularity of concealed carry permits, one of the questions concerns carrying weapons as people go about their daily lives.

Most states provide permits to all qualified applicants. However, a few states claim the authority to require citizens to prove special circumstances to qualify for a permit, such as having an abusive ex-spouse or being a prosecutor who fears retaliation from the criminals he is prosecuting.

New York has such restrictions. In Monday’s order, the justices granted review in a constitutional challenge to New York’s law, with the petition arguing that the Second Amendment entitles them to concealed-carry permits for purposes of general self-defense only, without any special circumstances.

Second Amendment supporters have been trying for more than a decade to get the High Court to weigh in on this issue. Read more…

Fauci Decides to Lecture America About Gun Control

Dr. Anthony Fauci, anointed America’s health Pope by the media and political establishment, has now waded into the politics of gun control. Coming off of similar efforts to declare political causes as “White racism,” “toxic masculinity,” “discrimination,” and “police brutality” as public health concerns, the Left is now using medical rhetoric to pathologize political opponents and usher in a totalitarian way of thinking which labels those of any opinion to the Right of Barack Obama a “threat to public health.” To say nothing of the mental health of those advocating such ideas, today Conservative Alerts digs into the politics behind Fauci’s rise to the peaks of political infallibility.

While refusing to answer any basic questions about when endless lockdowns and mask mandates will be scrapped, Chief Medical advisor to Joe Biden, Anthony Fauci, is now appearing on TV to advocate for more gun control.

During an interview with CNN, after he’d blamed Republicans for prolonging lockdowns and again claimed that the restrictions have nothing to do with liberties, Fauci was asked to comment on gun violence.

Fauci stated “Myself, as a public health person, I think you can’t run away from that. When you see people getting killed, in this last month it’s just been horrifying what’s happened. How can you say that’s not a public health issue?”

The guy won’t even answer basic questions about the only subject he’s supposed to, but is happy to answer one about a completely unrelated topic to help push CNN’s anti-Second Amendment agenda. Read more…

Biden Has Issued ‘Declaration of War’ on Gun Owners

The head of the premier gun rights organization in America has decried Joe Biden’s “Sinister Six” executive orders, deliberately designed to gut the Second Amendment. Biden’s handlers were sure to instruct him that “No Constitutional Amendment is set in stone,” while millions of Americans anxiously wait to see if another year of BLM/Antifa riots is ahead of us when the next hate hoax hits. Joe Biden’s agenda is rightfully being condemned by powerful voices, and the details are here:

Gun Owners of America Senior Vice President Erich Pratt said the group “is wholeheartedly opposed to the unconstitutional gun control threatened today by President Biden—restrictions such as the attacks on homemade and brace equipped firearms and so-called ‘Red Flag’ Gun Confiscation Orders.”

Joe Biden promised to do it and he has finally delivered. Today, the cognitively declining President of the United States signed a number of Executive Orders allegedly designed to “curb gun violence” but actually designed to destroy the Second Amendment and the Bill of Rights.

In the process, as Robert Wheeler writes at The Organic Prepper, Biden has turned many Americans into felons with a stroke of his pen. Details are still emerging as to just what the Executive Orders will mean for gun rights but we are aware of some of the ramifications.

Biden has signed 6 Executive Orders related to guns. Here they are:

Biden Assaults 2A; Promotes Waco Agent to Lead ATF

Joe Biden has announced his “shot heard round the world” against the Second Amendment. Stating “No Constitutional Amendment is set in stone,” Joe Biden has unleashed the dogs against gun-owners across the country, introducing new background checks, planned bans on AR pistols, gun kits, and numerous other unenforceable mandates designed to strangle the right to bear arms. And before you think this is all show: he’s appointed the case agent from the Waco siege in the 1990’s to lead the charge, putting into practice the agenda rehearsed for when the Clintons held the Oval Office. That is, the first time they held the Oval Office.

The White House announced Wednesday that President Biden will nominate longtime Giffords policy advisor and former ATF agent David Chipman to lead the nation’s gun regulatory agency.

Chipman, whose bio submitted to Congress in relation to his role in testifying in support of recent gun control measures, details that he has been with Giffords since 2016, having come to that anti-gun group after previously working for Bloomberg-founded Mayors Against Illegal Guns. Prior to that, he was with the ATF from 1988 to 2012, including running the agency’s Asset Forfeiture Program, leading the Detroit Field Division, and serving as “Case agent in [the] Branch Davidian trial” while working in the Waco, Texas, field office…

Since 2012, Chipman has been front and center stumping for the campaign to ban large selections of popular semi-auto firearms and keep in place antiquated controls on safety equipment such as suppressors. He testified against the Hearing Protection Act in 2017, arguing deregulating suppressors would lead to their increased use by criminals, disregarding the fact that an illegal suppressor can be readily made with household items today.

In 2019, he told the House Judiciary Committee that semi-auto firearms described as “assault weapons” are virtually “identical to those used by the military,” and should be extensively regulated even though over 18 million AR-style rifles are believed to be in circulation.

“[S]imply reinstating the 90s-era ban on assault weapons is not enough,” Chipman told lawmakers. “Instead, we should regulate a broader class of firearms, including assault weapons manufactured before the law’s enactment,” going on to explain that existing guns should fall under the NFA “while banning the future manufacture and sale of these firearms.” Read more…

Biden Gun Grab Appears Imminent

The Biden administration has signaled through their mouthpieces in the press that a gun grab is immanent this Thursday. Rumors are circulating in the mainstream media about background checks, unenforceable storage provisions, and bans on sales to people in wide, nebulous categories. House Democrats and the media are prepared to pounce, and conservatives should be on alert.

Shares in gun stocks temporarily spiked higher on Wednesday after Politico reported that President Biden is set to unveil a ‘long-awaited executive action on guns,’ which is expected to include background checks for owners of so-called ghost guns – which are typically homemade or makeshift firearms that lack serial numbers.

Other components of the executive action(s) are unclear – however some have speculated that Biden will announce regulations on ‘concealed assault-style firearms,’ as well as prohibitions on purchases for those convicted of domestic violence against their partners. There will also likely be federal guidance on home storage safety measures.

Last week over 100 House Democrats urged Biden to take action on concealed assault-style firearms. On the news, shares in Smith & Wesson and Ruger spiked before quickly erasing gains, perhaps because of the vague details contained in the report. Read more…

Connecticut Senator Preaches Blood Libel Against Republicans

Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) said Tuesday on CNN’s “OutFront” that Republican lawmakers were “complicit” in all the mass shootings that take place in the United States, given their opposition to gun legislation.

Blumenthal said, “In Boulder, that shooter is a deeply disturbed man who became a mass killer because he had an assault weapon that can kill people with the efficiency and speed meant for the battlefield. So guns make all these problems more fatally and deadly, especially for domestic violence victims who then can be killed, five times more likely to be killed in those situations. That’s why we need to make sure we adopt these common-sense measures.”

He added, “We should not be putting aside Republicans. They bear responsibilities as well. That was the whole point of my exchange this morning with Senator Cruz because they’re the ones who are ducking that responsibility and become complicit in all these shootings. It is not just Boulder, and it is 100 killings a day and not to mention the emotional traumas and injuries that result, the eight children that are lost every day of guns that are stored unsafely. I think my Republican colleagues are going to be put on record. Read more…

Virginia Republican AG Candidate Promises To Declare Democrat Gun Laws Unconstitutional

Chuck Smith, a Republican candidate for Attorney General of Virginia, declared Democrat gun laws unconstitutional and called big government gun grabs a hate crime, in a video laying out his plans to restore Virginians’ Second Amendment rights upon winning office.

Smith, a Virginia Beach-based Marine Corps veteran and attorney, is one of four candidates seeking the GOP nod to compete to be his state’s next Attorney General. Having raised over $147,000, he appears to be the front runner to take on incumbent Mark Herring, a blackface-wearing Democrat and close political ally of Governor Ralph Northam.

Second Amendment issues are at the forefront of the Attorney Generals’ race, following two years of near-constant assault on Virginians’ gun rights by Bloomberg-sponsored Democrats who won control of the state’s legislature in 2019, amidst massive redistricting efforts. Read more…

House Passes Democrat Bill Criminalizing Private Gun Sales

The U.S. House of Representatives passed universal background check gun control Thursday, criminalizing private gun sales conducted apart from an FBI background check.

The legislation, H.R. 8, sponsored by Rep. Mike Thompson (D-CA), passed by a vote of 227 to 203.

H.R. 8 would expand retail point-of-sale background checks so as to cover private points-of-sale. This will criminalize an individual who sells a 5-shot revolver to a lifelong neighbor, unless that neighbor first undergoes a National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) check, conducted by the FBI.
