Trump to Give Full Pardon to Conservative Filmmaker

You may recall, in the lead-up to the 2012 presidential election, Dinesh D’Sousa brought to theaters across the nation a hard-hitting documentary called 2016: Obama’s America.

It was designed to dig into the psyche of the first anti-colonial president of the United States and to paint a picture of what a post-Obama nation might look like should he be reelected.

In hindsight, much of what D’Sousa predicted was accurate. And for his work, he was persecuted by the Obama DOJ with criminal charges of election donation violations.

Though D’Sousa pleaded guilty, these were infractions for which nearly anyone else would have received a slap on the wrist and a fine.

This was clearly an act of political retribution.

But all that will be wiped away this week after President Trump announced he’s giving a full pardon to D’Sousa.

It’s just one more detail of Obama’s legacy that is quickly vanishing.

Here’s more from Western Journal…

Conservative author and filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza is expected to receive a full presidential pardon following a 2014 conviction for violating federal campaign finance laws.

In a tweet on Thursday, President Donald Trump announced the latest in a series of controversial pardons that began earlier in his first term than many of his predecessors.

“Will be giving a Full Pardon to Dinesh D’Souza today,” Trump wrote. “He was treated very unfairly by our government!”

Though he pleaded guilty after he was indicted on criminal counts of illegally donating to a campaign and causing false statements to police, D’Souza and many of his fans believe the charges themselves were a form of political retaliation.
